What is Microneedling?
Microneedling is a cutting-edge anti-aging skin rejuvenating treatment designed to stimulate the production of collagen in the skin, leading to younger, smoother, brighter and healthier-looking skin with fewer wrinkles.
The microneedles are designed to penetrate through the epidermis to create microscopic punctures on the skin’s surface. By creating tiny microchannels in the skin, you dramatically increase the penetration of any topical product being applied during the treatment, increasing its efficacy.
The concept of Microneedling is based on the skin’s natural ability to repair itself whenever it encounters physical damage, such as cuts, burns and other abrasions. Immediately after an injury occurs to the skin, our body reuses the damaged collagen and elastin fibres as well as other damaged skin components to produce new ones.
The device contains 12 very fine needles and acts to break down old scar tissue and push skin cell generation. Cell production leads to the creation of new layers of elastin and collagen fibres and leads to improved blood flow in the skin.
The device slides along the skin and penetrates upper layers of the skin to a depth of 0.2- 1.0mm to create tiny puncture wounds. This signals the body to respond by producing collagen and elastin fibres. As a result, the skin becomes fuller, thus reducing the appearance of scars, lines, and wrinkles.

After the procedure, the skin will be red and flushed on appearance in a similar way as a moderate sunburn.
You may also experience skin tightness and mild sensitivity to touch on the area being treated. This will greatly diminish after a few hours following treatments and within the next 24 to 48 hours the skin will be completely healed.
After 3 days most visible erythema (skin redness) will be absolved. You will be provided with a special skin cocktail serum to apply to your skin three times a day for 5 days.
How many treatments do I need and how often the Microneedling procedure can be repeated?
Each client’s skin condition determines the number of treatments that are needed. Microneedling can be safely repeated every 2-3 weeks as needed, from 3 to 6 consecutive treatments.
Collagen induction requires at least 3 treatments, while scar reduction requires between 3 and 6. Micro-needling can be used on all parts of the body (neck, décolletage, arms, legs, etc). Moderate acne scars may need between three and four treatments, while thermal burns and stretch marks may need five. Conditions such as wrinkles caused by ageing, two to three refresher treatments are recommended per year.
